Join Jim Bedrick, Webcor’s VP of Virtual Building and Design, for a discussion of the Model Progression Specification and its use at Webcor Builders. Mr. Bedrick will outline the use cases, the underlying methodology and the underpinning technology that Webcor has used to deploy the MPS. He will walk through how the Model Progression Specification carefully orchestrates the level of detail necessary for each component in order to model it, schedule it, and analyze it. As this information forms the data-rich 5D construction model, it can then migrate out to the field to serve as the basis for production control.
Attendees will learn:
| >> |
MPS is a language for use by owners, designers and builders that defines, schedules, and assigns responsibility for the development of model components through the design and construction phases of a project. |
| >> |
Using the MPS, the project team members understand specifically what is expected of them and what they can expect from others in terms of modeling. |
The Model Progression Specification (MPS) provides a framework for defining the increasing precision of project models as the design progresses. The MPS facilitates interaction between the Owner, Designer and Construction Team as they progress from the initial idea through completion of construction. It provides the framework to ensure that the team members can proceed with confidence as the design develops.
As with all Fridays with Vico webinars, we’ll have a dedicated segment for Questions and Answers with Mr. Bedrick and our expert panel.
