The Vico Customer Success Plan – A Case Study with Hoar Construction
What does it take to be successful with BIM for Construction? If it was just learning where to click in a software program, we would all be doing it very well. The challenge lies in creating a company culture around your BIM capabilities. Where do you start? Who should be involved? What does it take?
Join us on Fridays with Vico to discuss the Customer Success Plan – a one year commitment to start bringing BIM capabilities in-house, marketing them internally to teammates and externally to Owners, and then delivering successful projects. When contractors turn to us to help them transform Virtual Construction into a core competency we recommend the Vico Customer Success Plan – a one year prescription of training, process consulting, executive workshops, and mentoring aimed to get firms realizing their 5D BIM goals. The program is designed to help firms keep the enthusiasm and momentum high in order to achieve stated goals for integrated quantity takeoff, coordination, scheduling, estimating, and production control. The methodology is straightforward. Because we can only improve that which we constantly measure, we provide monthly status reports outlining which training blocks have been consumed, which seminars have been conducted, which employees have completed training follow-up assignments and received certification, and how projects are faring.
Here is how the program works:
Part 1: Executive and departmental briefings.
We start with the Model Progression Specification for working with extended teams of designers, engineers, and subs. We then cover Constructability, Cost Planning, Scheduling (including flowline theory and location-based management), Production Control, and a special workshop designed for the CIO and IT team.
Part 2: Comprehensive training, follow-up assignments, and certification. Your teams are rigorously trained to understand and use Vico Office for integrated construction management. Then specialized teams can pursue advanced topics. We also offer training to your personnel who will be running the BIM projects – these champions will be well-versed in selling your new capabilities as well as executing upon them. Those who complete their follow-up assignments and exercises with passing grades become Vico-Certified and are eligible for our exclusive Vico Office user group to discuss the very latest technology developments and best practices.
Part 3: Project-Based Workshops. Our one-day onsite workshops focus on building expertise throughout your departments. Whether you select Custom Reporting or a deep-dive on building out your estimating database or a workshop designed to gather production agreements with your subs, you will feel the enthusiasm for these best practices excite your team and make them hungry for even more workshops.
Part 4: Planning, Reporting, and Support. As a Customer Success Plan member, your team receives accelerated support and consulting. The consulting work extends to annual goal setting and the monthly reporting to keep your team on track. We do not let you pass up opportunities to keep the momentum growing – we consider it our job to push you to meet your goals.
Your firm receives access to all our content, our expertise, insights, and experience – all at a very affordable price. But we do ask that you commit to management support, stick to the scheduled dates, and consume the entire program in the one-year timeframe.
This webinar is for you and your team if:
1.) You’ve struggled to grow BIM out of a department;
2.) You want to move beyond renderings and walk-throughs, or past clash
detection on your projects;
3.) You know that changing your technology can mean changing your
competitiveness in the market;
4.) You understand that
your firm might be resistant to change and you want to learn how to effectively
roll out a complete program;
5.) You want to hear from colleagues who have “been there, done that.” You want
to better understand the challenges and the rewards.
In this Fridays with Vico webinar, we’ll not only describe the program, but we will let the team from Hoar Construction present their roll-out, results, and company reaction. So gather your team and join us for the next Fridays with Vico webinar:
