Fridays with Vico Presents Vico Office

Thank you for your interest, but this webinar has been removed from circulation to make way for newer titles!

Since this webinar first aired we have added a tremendous breadth of functionality to the solution. You can watch the evolution of Vico Office functionality with the following webinars...

1. For more detailed information on Vico Office for Estimating Teams, please watch the BIM-Based Estimating Fundamentals webinar.

2. To see how clash detection and constructability analysis fit into the 5D workflow, please watch the Coordination 2.0 and The New Preconstruction webinars.

3. At Vico, we say that 5D comes before 4D. See what we mean by watching The 5D Virtual Construction Workflow webinar.

4. To see how Vico Office works for Scheduling Teams, please watch the Planning and Controlling the Schedule webinar.

We also offer a step-by-step guide to our 5D virtual construction workflow with video tutorials. These videos are just 2-5 minutes in length, but illustrate how to use a particular piece of functionality. You can access the video library index and view just what you need, or download the complete set of training videos.

Here is the original invitation to the February 2009 webinar:

Vico Office is the BIM-neutral platform that analyzes, organizes, and synthesizes Revit, Tekla, and ArchiCAD files. Simply publish to Vico Office from your favorite BIM-authoring tool, and the platform takes care of the rest!  There’s no file format to alter, no conversion, simply publishing.

The first step is a Quantity Takeoff based on the model geometry. Utilizing a patent-pending algorithm, Vico Office produces a listing of construction quantities which are then used to power the estimates and schedules. These construction-caliber quantities hold the key for accurate calculations throughout the project.

Why does this one step level the playing field? Vico Office adds a more granular set of building information to the building model through these construction quantities which is simply not needed nor available in the design environment. Now project stakeholders can participate in the BIM using their favorite tools. Quantities for construction can be quickly extracted, or for graphical users, painted into families for quick highlighting in the 3D model.

Inside the Excel-like interface, the user can explode a cell to expose the Formula Editor. Using the Formula Editor, the user can quickly access the multiple quantity types in the model and customize their specific calculations to account for consumption rates, waste factors, and escalations. Estimating is streamlined from the first conceptual estimate through the final GMP.

And because we’re working with an estimating and scheduling database, reports can be built on the fly to easily communicate project details.

Come see what everyone is talking about: Vico Office - the first BIM-neutral environment for model-based estimating and scheduling.
